Save the AV Session

What to do when the session is falling apart and you want to save it from going down the drain.

1. Get up and dance
2. Do some magic tricks
3. Put on some costume jewelry
4. Play with a box of buttons
5. Open a present
6. Eat a cookie
7. Play some music and make some noise
8. Turn out the lights
9. Play with some stickers
10. Have a little party
11. Drop things in colored water
12. Draw a picture
13. Put on some funny hats
14. Read from the "Blank Book"
15. Watch an imaginary TV Show
16. Find something in a Feely Bag
17. Open your "treasure chest".
18. Play "Look what I found"
19. Get out the Playdough
20. Go "Fishing"
21. Sit under the table and "do the session"
22. Go on a treasure hunt.
23. Make something (art and craft activity)
24. Go through a "purse full of goodies"
25. Play a video or a CD of musical games
26. Put on make up.
27. Paint fingernails.
28. Wash toys in warm soapy water
29. Organize a messy toy box
30. Make a thank you or birthday card.
31. Look at the pictures in a magazine.
32. Do a "power point" session
33. Make funny faces and talk with funny voices
34. Play bowling
35. Play some musical instruments or make some
36. Make a mask and decorate it.
37. Do a puppet show.
38. Blow bubbles
39. Spin a top
40. Play with wind up toys
41. Go "shopping".
42. Bring out the Scotch Tape. "Accidentally", tear a piece of "important" paper and fix it before continuing
43. Your dolly or favorite animal is sick, remember? You have to check on it, so get out the band aids and the doctor kit.
44. Pretend you are VERY tired and fall asleep. Parent and child will have to wake you up and keep you awake.
45. Bring out the flashlights. Pretend it is night.
46. Go camping.
47. Take out a favorite toy/activity with gusto and conspiratorial excitement. Put it just out of reach. Complete the tasks at hand and THEN play with the toy.
48. Spray a little perfume into the air.
49. Look out the window.
50. Chew some gum and ponder your future.
